Two N otre Dame students w ere robbed at gunpoint Monday night in their Portage Avenue home, bound and locked In a closet, and relieved o f a *1400 stereo and $400 in cash. According to Michael McSally, a senior, tw o gunm en apparently en tered the w rong house looking for cocaine. The in truders held McSally and a friend at gunpoint for 40 m inutes while ransacking the house, ending their siege by barricading the tw o bound victims in a hall closet. The pair was released by McSally’s girlfriend w ho arrived less than one m inute after the assailants left. McSally said one o f the m en came to the door and asked to use the telephone. “We sat and talked on and off for about ten m inutes waiting for (ano ther person in the house) to get off the phone," he said. "W hen he was off, I said T h e phone’s all yours.' He walked tow ards the phone, pulled a gun out o f his pocket and told us both to get on the floor. He said they lay face dow n on the kitchen floor and the gunman placed pillows over their heads and th reatened to kill them if they moved or looked up. “He explained ano ther guy was outside and said if this guy saw us look up he’d kill us,” McSally said. “Then he w ent to the front door and let the o th er guy inside. The second guy cam e into the room an started asking us w here the cocaine was. We told him that w e did not deal in cocaine, that we did not have cocaine. "He then said he was going to mess one o f us up’ to get the o ther one to talk, ” McSally continued. “At this point they decided to tie us up. The guy we d idn 't see ripped a cord ou t o f the wall and tied me up pretty tightly. My hands started turning blue. Then he started asking me w here the coke was and 1 told him w e didn’t have any, that w e never had any. The man w ith the gun then placed the gun against his tem ple and again th reatened to kill him, McSally said. The pair then began searching the house. W hen the second man w ent upstairs, "the guy w ith the gun came up to me and said I’m the only guy w ith the gun, don’t w orry about him. Just play w ith me and you w on’t get hurt.’ The second man cam e dow nstairs and the pair dragged the tw o stu dents into a closet. “They cleared the closet out and threw us in,” McSally said.
